R&D laboratory
Formula discussion, sample development and the testing scope.

THE DEVELOPMENT CONVERSATION
Turn preferences
into a clear reference.
01
Define the brief
Product category, target market, texture, fragrance and packaging direction.
02
Discuss the approach
Clarify the formulation route, available references and work to be quoted.
03
Review the sample
Record feedback on agreed attributes and identify any revisions.
04
Confirm the reference
Agree the sample, specification and testing scope before the next stage.
DEFINE THE SCOPE BEFORE THE WORK
What to discuss
with development support.
| Discussion area | Details to confirm |
|---|---|
| Appearance & sensory profile | Texture, colour, fragrance and the sample reference. |
| Formula & ingredient brief | Ingredient preferences, restrictions and the information available for review. |
| Product & packaging compatibility | Container, closure, method, acceptance criteria and review timing. |
| Stability & other requested tests | Required methods, internal or external provider, fees and records. |
| Destination documentation | Documents requested for the named product and destination. |
The methods, equipment, providers, fees and report availability must be confirmed for the requested scope. This preview does not certify testing capability or product performance.
A USEFUL SAMPLE REFERENCE
Keep feedback specific. Keep decisions connected.
Identify the sample version, describe the observation and separate the requested change from what has already been agreed. Confirm the next reference before proceeding.
For each sample review
- Sample reference and review date
- Attributes reviewed and buyer feedback
- Changes requested and next sample scope
- Agreed reference and approval record
QUESTIONS BEFORE WE START
The details
to clarify together.
Can I start with an existing product reference?
Share the reference and explain the texture, fragrance, packaging or other attributes you want to discuss. Feasibility, permitted use of reference materials and the development scope should be agreed before sample work.
Is every test performed in-house?
The actual testing scope and provider have not yet been confirmed. For your project, identify each requested test, who performs it, the method, fees, timing and record to be provided.
